Contact/Share Your Story

Every place has a story. What’s yours?

Some of the most important stories begin with a simple conversation, an exchange of words that can lead to something much bigger.

Common Threads is always interested in hearing from people across Leigh, Atherton, Tyldesley, Wigan and surrounding areas, as well as those with stories from further afield.

Whether you have a personal experience to share, know someone doing something interesting in your community or believe there’s an issue that deserves greater attention, I’d love to hear from you.

What Kind of Stories?

Arts & Culture

From grassroots musicians, artists and theatre groups to independent venues, creative projects and local events. I’m interested in the people and creativity shaping our communities.

People & Places

The people, places, local history and everyday experiences that make our communities what they are. Sometimes, the most interesting stories are the ones happening right on our doorstep.

Social Issues

Stories exploring the challenges people face, from unpaid care and social care to wider issues affecting everyday lives. I’m particularly interested in experiences and perspectives that don’t always receive the attention they deserve.

It’s about celebrating what’s happening in our communities without overlooking the more difficult issues.

Photography & Collaborations

I’m also interested in hearing from local musicians, venues, theatre groups, community organisations and creatives looking for photography, features or opportunities to collaborate.

Whether it’s documenting a live performance, capturing a community event or exploring a story through photography, I’d love to hear your ideas.

Get in Touch

You don’t need to have a fully formed story or know exactly what you want to say. Sometimes, an initial conversation is enough.

Sharing Your Experience

I understand that some stories can be personal or sensitive. Getting in touch doesn’t mean you’re agreeing to an interview or publication.

Before moving forward, we’ll discuss what you’re comfortable sharing, how your experiences might be represented and any concerns you may have about privacy.

Your experiences matter, and you should have a say in how your story is told.
